A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work at all; others tell us how the magazine is being read, or let advertising work. This page lists what Dantesco uses and how to control it.
1. Strictly necessary
These cannot be switched off, because without them the site does not function. They are set only when they are actually needed — a reader who never logs in and never comments receives none of them.

2. Audience measurement
These tell us which articles are read and how people arrive. We use them under legitimate interest, and you can refuse them.

3. Advertising
The magazine carries advertising through Google AdSense, which may set cookies to limit how often you see the same advertisement and to measure performance. Where required by law, these are set only after you consent.

4. How to control cookies
You can accept or refuse non-essential cookies through the banner shown on your first visit, and change your mind at any time by clearing the site’s cookies and reloading the page.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser directly:
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in or commenting. Blocking the others changes nothing about what you can read.
You can also opt out of Google Analytics across every site you visit with Google’s browser add-on, and manage advertising personalisation in Google My Ad Center.
5. Other technologies
Besides cookies, the site uses your browser’s local storage to remember small interface choices — which tab of the member directory you had open, for instance. This data never leaves your device and is not sent to us.
